Dear Wes,
You turned 8 months old a few days ago and you are a busy baby with all that playing and crawling you’ve been doing. Crawling! You started crawling about a week and a half ago (video to be posted soon) and your dad and I couldn’t be more proud. Your favorite things to crawl to: the bookshelf where you pull down every single book you have, the fireplace (specifically the areas with the sharp edges) and any sort of electronic device left where you can reach.
Games you like to play: This Little Piggy, Peek-a-Boo, Pat-a-Cake, ride the horsey and chase Mommy. All of these elicit sweet giggles from you and there is nothing better.
Food you don’t like to eat and make you shiver when you try to get them down (you seem to be your father's son): scrambled egg yolks, cooked cauliflower (which I have to admit needed some melted cheese...desperately) and avocado
Do you lay still for diaper changes? uh no
Will you ever sleep through the night again? may the answer please, please be yes
September was full of adventure for you. We traveled to the Omaha Zoo and you saw lions and tigers and bears with your own eyes. It was like your Wild Animals book came to life for you. You burst into giggles and wiggles when you caught sight the tigers pacing in their enclosures. In fact, any animal that was close enough for you to see and that was on the move made you squirm with delight.
But your most favorite day of the month (and maybe your entire eight months) was our trip to the state fair. Your little eyes couldn’t keep up with everything you wanted to see and your smile, oh the smile, spread clear to the edges of your little face. When we took a break to feed you a bottle, I looked at your eyes and (if I could read your mind) I know you were thinking “this is the BEST DAY EVER!”.
love, Mommy
