Weekend Get Away

Last weekend we went to Omaha for a quick get away and our first official family vacation.  Why Omaha, you ask.  Because it's a short ride from home, they have a nice zoo and their summer advertising campaign finally got the better of me after seeing too many Visit Omaha! commercials.  It was Wes' first trip across the state line and his first night in a hotel, which, interestingly enough, he did not enjoy sleeping in one bit.  Besides the sleepless nights, we had fun days!

What did we do?  We went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning.

And to the Durham Museum, located in the old Union Station.

On Sunday we visited the zoo...twice...because some scatter brained mom forgot the baby's food, then some clumsy mom spilled half his bottle all over the park table.  SO we left mid day for a trip to the hotel, then headed back in the afternoon.  Wes' favorite...the tigers!

On Monday we headed back home! (and Jeremy and I decided we needed a vacation from our vacation to recuperate from three days on the road with the baby)
